NEW! The Secret Worlds

The Secret Worlds hide unique items that are required to claim the Lagoon as your own. Afterward, the Secret World trials are the main way to obtain collectible items, which can be exchanged for unique materials in the Lagoon, as well as various other rewards.

To unlock the Secret Worlds, you must complete a few introductory quests in the Lagoon. As a reward, Matt Hardy will give you a crossing amulet. Amulets allow you to activate the ancient temple and open the passage to one of the Secret Worlds.

After that, crossing amulets can be purchased with florins or diamonds in the ancient temple.

Note:

Crossing amulets can be purchased only if you do not currently possess any!

PREPARATION

Once you open the entrance, one of the 24 worlds randomly becomes available for exploration, and the countdown begins. In this article, we’ll take a look at one of the worlds as an example.

In the entrance window, you’ll see a list of items you’ll need inside the world. Move them from storage to your backpack using the arrows under each item. If you don’t have the required items, you can make them in a workshop or buy them with diamonds later during your adventures in the Secret World. Click the Enter button.

Attention!

If you load up your backpack but close the preparation window, all the items you moved will go back into storage, and you’ll have to put them in your backpack again.

IN THE SECRET WORLD

Note:

Each world is only available for 5 hours. If you leave the world before then, you cannot go back in.

First, let’s look at the trials to be completed by clicking the quest icon on the left side of the screen:

All Secret Worlds have 3 trials, one of which will always be to open the floating sarcophagus, which contains quest items, such as stellar mosaic pieces. In this example, you’ll also have to load the ore onto handcars and drive away the bats.

To load the ore, you first need to mine it. Look for adamantine deposits and then mine the ore.

After that, you can load the ore onto the handcars.

You can drive away the bats by lighting the nearby copper lanterns.

Completing these two trials will allow you to enter the treasure room and open the sarcophagus – the third and final trial of the Secret World.

If you aren’t sure what step to take next, you can always request in-game instructions by clicking the green button on the bottom panel. When there are no trials left, it will say Completed!

Note:

You may encounter enemies while exploring the Secret Worlds. If you do, look for a natural grotto that will restore your strength for the battle!

Note:

Even if you can’t find a natural grotto in the world, you can still start a battle while not at full strength.

As you explore a Secret World, you can always find something useful. Search vases and forgotten supplies, and collect treasure. As a reward, you’ll receive various resources, such as coins, diamonds, energy, and different materials.

Note:

After 5 hours, or if you press the Exit button, all items that are in your backpack at that moment will be transferred to storage on your Home Island automatically.

MYSTERIES OF THE SECRET WORLD

As the name suggests, the Secret Worlds hold a lot of secrets. While exploring them, you’ll encounter Secret World chests, dilapidated walls, curtains of darkness, and hourglasses of time.

Secret World chests can be opened with master keys and dilapidated walls can be blown up with explosive barrels. Curtains of darkness and hourglasses of time can be dispelled with distant starlight.

Secret World chests hold coins, diamonds, energy, collectible items, and quest items.

Note:

Master keys, explosive barrels, and distant starlight can be purchased with diamonds or found in floating sarcophagi. After claiming the Lagoon as your own, you can also get these tools by:

  • increasing your resort level
  • completing seaplane orders
  • feeding Hoppi Roo the kangaroo

Attention!

Dilapidated walls, curtains of darkness, and hourglasses of time protect optional treasure rooms in a Secret World. You don’t have to open these rooms to complete trials. Secret World chests are optional as well.

Besides countless treasures, you’ll encounter many different trials in the Secret Worlds, and some of them can be quite tricky! One example is the attention test. To complete the test, start by pressing on the control panel and then find the differences between the two holograms:

To mark a difference, you must click on the object in the left hologram only. Don’t worry, wrong guesses won’t reset your progress in the trial. You can make as many guesses as you’d like!

Another tricky trial is growing the right type of heliconia. First, you must locate the heliconia seedling. After that, take the fertilizer from the nearby container and start experimenting with the seedling by clicking on it. To grow the right type of heliconia, you must use 2 correct fertilizers. You’ll know if the experiment succeeded or failed only after using both fertilizers and seeing the result. If the experiment is unsuccessful, you must cut down the incorrect type of heliconia and start the experiment over again.

Some Secret World swamps have islets scattered around. You must build a bridge between the swamp tussocks to get to the other side or recover sunken chests. However, not all tussocks are safe. You must step on them first to check them. If the tussock doesn’t disappear, click on it again to build a bridge.
